Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery

Walking in becomes an experience. This restaurant is all about the American feel. They say “Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery is based on America's rich ethnic cooking styles, complimented by finely hand-crafted beers, tantalizing starters and perfectly seared steaks.

"We've got something brewing you're sure to like. Liberty is also a celebration of life, family and the pursuit of happiness. So bring us your hungry, your thirsty and fun-loving, we'll send you home refreshed and fulfilled. Celebrate Liberty with Us!” is the motto Liberty lives by.

They want you to walk in and feel like you are at home. This is not any ordinary eatery; they also brew their own beer outside of the restaurant in large metal barrels outside. Each side of the restaurant has a different feel, but is pulled together in color and life.

Half of the eatery is a bar and it can get pretty rowdy on nights and weekends. It is also used a sort of holding room while people are waiting to be seated in the dining area. Therefore, the bar area can be unclean at times. There are people sitting and standing everywhere.

I went a few times in order to try the food and experience the dining room aspect and then on the weekends with friends to experience how the bar atmosphere feels. The day of the week depends on how crazy the bar gets.

Wednesdays are trivia night and certain nights are college night. These can get wild. The bar is completely separate from the dining area by a short hallway. The dining area is set up like an Old American room. It is nicely furnished with booths and tables. Every time I have gone, the wait staff has been so generous and patient with the guests. There is usually at least a 30-minute wait, but it can range depending on the night. Fortunately, they have a call ahead system where you can call and let them know when you will be there so when you get there, your name is already on the list and you do not have to wait as long. This is definitely a helpful tool when you want to schedule your time of arrival. Once you are seated, the next task at hand is ordering a meal.

I can honestly say that there has not been a time that I have been disappointed with my meal. I have tried various items and now have a favorite. For starters, they have great appetizers. I have tried the Heartland Spinach and Artichoke Dip, the Crab Dip, and the Tommy Texas Cheese Fries. They are all so delicious.

My favorite is probably the spinach and artichoke dip because it is not too filling, but it is a nice transition into the meal. The downside to the others is that they give you a lot so if you may have to share with others or take it to go. If you absolutely wanted to, you could probably get an appetizer as a dinner entrée.

For dinner, I have tried the Honey Bourbon Chicken, the Texas Melt, and the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp. My all time favorite is the hibachi. It is a little bit pricy compared to everything else on the menu, but I can honestly say that it is worth it. You get so much food too. It doesn’t say this on the menu, but you can get chicken in place of one of them as well. It comes with fried ride, vegetables, and the meat along with a special dipping sauce to add some extra flavor. The first time I had it, I was sold.

This restaurant is great to hang out at with friends, or to come with the family. It has an atmosphere for everyone. It is in a safe area in High Point and the people that work there are very accommodating.  I would highly recommend this eatery to any of my friends. I can honestly say I have not heard one bad thing about this restaurant. Definite thumbs up!
