Debeen Espresso

Debeen Espresso, established in 1997 has become a popular place for a variety of different people to hang out. It all started with a woman named Debbie Workman, founder of Debeen.

The idea was sparked from a childhood love for her favorite bakery in Spokane Washington, The Rocket Bakery and Cafe. Workman noticed that there weren't any coffee shops around the High Point area so she and her roommate, Venus, rented out a corner and started to build their idea, rejuvenating what was once a popular hotspot.

Many people in the area helped to get things started by donating furniture, art, and a stage so they could bring in local performers. They wanted the place to look unique and comforting. It needed to be a place people wanted to relax at and take a break from their daily lives.

The coffeehouse's popularity started to grow and their customer base expanded by many. She was getting several calls about hosting parties and having groups come in. It became the place to go for events, local talent, art showings, and open mic nights for musicians and singers.

The most important part was the drinks. She has always made sure that the coffee is tasty with locally roasted espresso beans and fresh flavors. They also have frozen smoothie drinks and gelato.

Not only does it have coffee, but baked goods as well! They offer a plethora of freshly baked, in-house pastries everyday. These include muffins, different types of granola bars and brownie bars, cakes, scones, cookies, and gluten-free and vegan options in all types of flavors.

One of the awesome things about this coffee shop is that it doubles as a yoga studio. In fact, the first time i heard about it was for its yoga classes.

The studio is called Pure Light Yoga. They hold daily yoga sessions and even offer one-on-one training sessions with experienced instructors.

This is a great place to get away and unwind, especially for college students. Free Wi-Fi is available for all your work related studies and surfing the web.

Debeen has so many great things to offer, stop by for some great talent and an awesome cup of coffee!
